It’s been a while since i’ve joined an Office 365 hosted Skype for Business meeting, but I noticed today that Microsoft have updated the meeting join experience, streamlining the process.
Upon clicking the Join Skype Meeting link, you’re now taken to a page that presents you with two options:
The first option downloads and installs the Skype for Business Web App, and then opens the meeting in your web browser. I’ve tested and confirmed that this works in both IE, and Chrome.
The second launches Skype for Business – as long as you have it installed, and automatically joins you into the meeting.
A welcome improvement, especially for those who were used to adding ?sl=1 to the end of the join URL to force the meeting to load within the web browser.
