In case you didn’t know…
You can add members to a Teams group chat easily within the group chat window:
To remove a user, someone must have sent at least one message within the group first
Before sending a message, the X next to each members name doesn’t appear:
After sending a message to the group, the X appears, allowing you to remove a user from the group chat:
Some Notes:
A group chat must have at least 3 members before you’ll be allowed to send a message. You don’t be able to remove members from the group once only two members remain.
If you’d like to disable users from removing members from chat groups, you can do so via a Teams Messaging Policy within the Teams Admin Centre:
